Kaptain Chechkin icebreaker took part in Grigory Bugrov resque operation

The FSUE "Rosmorport" Astrakhan branch icebreaker Kapitan Chechkin took part in Grigory Bugrov tanker resque operation twice. During 14-19 of October the icebreaker delivered equipment and expert group to the accident site, later the icebreaker was used as headquarters. On 23th of October the icebreaker was sent to the accident site and on 25th it tugged the tanker to the seaport of Astrakhan.

On 13th of October 2011 Grigory Bugrov tanker (shipowner: Morchartering Ltd, Oil Marine Group, Saint Petersburg, port of registration: Astrakhan) with 6 000 tons of oil-fuel aboard wrecked in Caspian Sea in the Zhemchuzhnaya bank ridge area, near the Volga-Caspian Canal entrance. No environmental contamination detected.
