On April, 23rd and 24th, 2010 the second joint five-sided session of administrations of the seaports of near-Caspian states took place in the seaport of Olya.

Head of Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport A.A. Davydenko, Governor of Astrakhan region A.A. Zhilkin, chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan region K.A. Markelov, director of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Astrakhan branch S.V. Petruhin, representatives of seaports administrations of Islamic Republic of Iran, Azerbaijan Republic, Republic of Kazakhstan and Republic of Turkmenistan, representatives of the Russian companies and organizations of sea and river economic sector took part in the session.

During the session questions of creation of association of near-Caspian sea shipping companies — Caspian Sea Shipping Association (CSA), preparations of the Memorandum of Safety Precautions and Fire-prevention regulating safety precautions maintenance for cargo handling works and fire-prevention on vessels in water areas of the Caspian ports were considered.

On April, 24th, 2010 participants of joint five-sided session of administrations of the seaports of the near-Caspian states took part in a laying of the grain terminal in the seaport of Olya. Head of Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport A.A. Davydenko and chairman of the Government of Astrakhan region K.A. Markelov put in the basis of the grain terminal a capsule with the symbolical message to next generations.

In end of the day the working meeting with participation of Head of Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport A.A. Davydenko, chairman of the Government of Astrakhan region K.A. Markelov, director of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Astrakhan branch S.V. Petruhin concerning construction of port facilities and the seaport of Olya further development was held.
