Voronin Arctic Maritime Institute, a branch of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping, together with the Arkhangelsk Branch of FSUE "Rosmorport" will hold the Fourth Festival of the Arctic Navy in Arkhangelsk

The festival housed by the Voronin Arctic Maritime Institute will take place on May 15, 2021.

This year the festival is dedicated to a number of significant anniversary events, namely:
- 80 years since the arrival of the first allied convoy Dervish to Arkhangelsk;
- 125 years since the birth of Pavel Akimovich Ponomarev (1896 - 1973), the first captain of the nuclear icebreaker "Lenin", graduated the Arkhangelsk Commercial and Maritime School in 1918;
- 240 years since the opening of the first Russian navigation school in Kholmogory (Arkhangelsk Region).

During the festival, the sites of maritime educational institutions, expositions, and exhibitions of public organizations and cultural institutions will be open in the institute, and a holiday concert will be held.

It is planned to carry out an excursion program "Open Board", which includes a visit to the icebreaker Kapitan Chadaev of the Arkhangelsk Branch for organized groups of pupils and cadets from maritime educational institutions.

Due to restrictions related to the COVID-19 situation the number of excursions will be limited.

Taking into account the increased attention of the world community to the development of the Arctic, the development of transportation along the Northern Sea Route, the festival will help attract personnel to the maritime industry and form a positive image of Arkhangelsk as a large northern maritime center of Russia.

Students, pupils of continuing education organizations and everyone else are invited to participate in the festival.

Access to the festival is free.
