New Seaport Is Given a Name

The Government of Russia by its regulation dated 25.04.2013 № 374 gave the name "Sabetta" to the new seaport, which is being constructed in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District at the coast of the Ob mouth of Kara Sea. Its boundaries were set earlier by Government of Russia regulation dated 26.02.2013 № 242-r.

The construction of Sabetta Seaport is conducted in accordance with Government of Russia regulation 13.07.2012 № 1259-р in order to provide transshipment of raw hydrocarbons of the South Tambey gas condensate field located in Yamal and delivery of natural gas, oil, and gas condensate by sea transport to the countries of Western Europe, North and South America, and the Asia and Pacific region.

The Arkhangelsk Branch of FSUE "Rosmorport" acts on behalf of the enterprise as representative of the client constructor, and participates in the construction of the following federal property objects in the seaport:
- approaching navigation canal;
- water area of the projected auxiliary berths;
- coastal aids to navigation including the leading navigation gate (front and back gate signs);
- supervision and corrective GPS station (differential correction station).

In 2012 an involved subcontractor performed dredging works in the water area of the seaport with the total amount of extracted soil of more than 1.5 million cubic meters.

At the moment between the navigation periods, dredging works are not conducted in Sabetta Seaport due to ice conditions. It is planned to resume them in July, when the water area of the Ob mouth of the Kara Sea will be freed from ice in the area, where the works are conducted.
