With the beginning of the winter navigation 2012-2013 the Arkhangelsk Branch starts rendering ice counsellor services to all interested ship owners for safe navigation of vessels in the White Sea water area. The ice counsellor services are rendered by the Arkhangelsk Branch on a contractual basis by highly qualified specialists, selected among the best trained pilots of the Pilotage Service of the Arkhangelsk Branch having working experience in ice conditions of the White Sea, in accordance with the Statute on rendering services for safe ice pilotage of vessels by the ice counsellors of the FSUE "Rosmorport" Arkhangelsk Branch agreed with the Arkhangelsk seaport captain on 5.12.2012 and approved by the FSUE "Rosmorport" General Director on 21.12.2012.

Ice counsellors of the Arkhangelsk Branch render assistance on safe navigation of vessels moving in caravans headed by icebreakers or on their own in ice conditions from the ice edge to the Mudyugsky №1 buoy of the Arkhangelsk seaport and backwards. Ice counsellor services can also be rendered during navigation of vessels into seaports located in Kandalaksha Bay.
