Information on FSUE “Rosmorport” icebreaker support in Russian seaports as of March 11, 2019

Since the beginning of the 2018-2019 navigation in Russian freezing seaports FSUE “Rosmorport” has provided support for 5.936 vessels.

The period of icebreaker support has ended in the Azov Basin and the Caspian Sea Basin. Since the beginning of the winter navigation the icebreakers – the Kapitan Chechkin, the Kapitan Metsaik and the Kapitan Bukaev have provided support for 499 vessels in the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya. During the winter navigation, vessels of the icebreaker fleet – the Kapitan Demidov, the Kapitan Zarubin, the Kapitan Chudinov, the Kapitan Kharchikov, the Kama, the Kapitan Moshkin and the Kapitan Krutov provided support for 3.357 vessels in the seaports of the Azov Basin.

The icebreakers continue providing support in the Artic Basin. The icebreakers – the Kapitan Yevdokimov, the Kapitan Chadaev, the Kapitan Kosolapov and the Dikson provided support for 254 vessels in the White Sea while the Krasin icebreaker provided support for 34 vessels in the Kara Sea and the Moskva icebreaker provided support for 108 vessels in the seaport of Sabetta.

The Semyon Dezhnev, the Kapitan M. Izmailov, the Ivan Kruzenshtern, the Mudyug, the Saint Petersburg, the Murmansk, the Kapitan Sorokin, the Yuri Lisyansky, the Vladivostok and the Yermak icebreakers provided support for 1.500 vessels in the Gulf of Finland.

Since the beginning of the winter navigation the Magadan, the Novorossiysk and the Kapitan Khlebnikov icebreakers have provided support for 184 vessels in the Tatar Strait, the seaports of Magadan and Vanino.

The world’s largest diesel icebreaker fleet of FSUE “Rosmorport”, including 35 icebreakers of different power, guarantees all-year-round access to freezing seaports of the country.
