Information on FSUE “Rosmorport” icebreaker support in Russian seaports as of April 15, 2019

Since the beginning of icebreaker support in 2018-2019 in Russian freezing seaports FSUE “Rosmorport” has provided icebreaker support for almost 7,000 vessels.

The icebreakers of the enterprise provide support for vessels in the Arctic Basin. The Kapitan Yevdokimov, the Kapitan Chadaev, the Kapitan Kosolapov, the Dikson and the Kapitan Dranitsyn isebreakers have provided support for 394 vessels in the White Sea while the Krasin icebreaker has provided support for 56 vessels in the Kara Sea and the Moskva icebreaker has provided support for 131 vessels in the seaport of Sabetta.

Since the beginning of icebreaker support a total of 1,983 vessels have been provided support in the Gulf of Finland. The icebreakers of the North-Western Basin Branch – the Kapitan M. Izmailov and the Kapitan Zarubin continue the work.

At present, the Magadan icebreaker and the Kapitan Khlebnikov icebreaker provide support for vessels in the Tatar Strait and the seaports of Magadan and Vanino of the Far Eastern Basin Branch. Since the winter navigation in this region icebreaker support has been provided for 315 vessels.

The icebreaker support period has been ended in the Azov and Caspian basins. During the 2018-2019 winter navigation, icebreaker support has been provided for 3,856 vesels.

The major diesel icebreaker fleet, which includes 35 icebreakers of different capacity, make freezing seaports accessible all year round.
