FSUE “Rosmorport” management takes part in Eastern Economic Forum

The V Eastern Economic Forum finished its work in Vladivostok on September 6, 2019. The major event gathered at least 5,000 people from over than 50 countries. FSUE “Rosmorport” played the role of general partner of the event.

The plenary session, involving Russian President Vladimir Putin and leaders of the Asia-Pacific Region, became the key event of the forum. The head of state spoke in detail about the prospects for the development of the Far East, as well as about the development of trade and economic global cooperation.

As part of the business agenda of the forum the FSUE “Rosmorport” delegation led by General Director Andrei Lavrishchev took part in the events of the forum. Special attention was paid to innovation technologies and digitalization of the transport industry. The participants in the meetings noted that digitalization transformation would give an additional impetus to the development of transport corridors. In addition, the meetings focused on the development of the seaport infrastructure, the attraction of new investment and the environment.

Under a draft comprehensive plan for modernizing and expanding the truck infrastructure, FSUE “Rosmorport” will implement 17 projects to develop seaports of the Far Eastern Basin. The projects are aimed at increasing the amounts of coal transshipment. The implementation of these projects will allow for increasing the ports’ capacity in the Far Eastern Basin by the year 2024 in the amount of 132.6 million tons (plus 54% to the index of the year 2018). At present, specialized coal transshipping complexes are under construction in the Muchka Bay of the seaport of Vanino and near Cape Otkrytyi, as well as a new specialized seaport in the Sukhodol Bay. The operations for reconstructing hydraulic structures of the coal terminal of Maly Port LLC in the seaport of Vostochny are carried out.

During the visit to the Far East, deputy director of the Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport Zakhariy Dzhioyev, FSUE “Rosmorport” Director-General Andrei Lavrishchev and director of the Far Eastern Basin Branch Viktor Vanyukov met with the management of the Slavyansky ship repairing yard to discuss shipbuilding and the development of the port infrastructure, and prospects for creating the terminal for transit of grain and container cargoes.
