FSUE “Rosmorport” Partner's Shift Participants Master Maritime Professions

On June 6, 2017 participants in the FSUE “Rosmorport” partner's in the Russian Children's Center “Orlyonok”shift visited the Tuapse Directorate of the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch.

Within the sectoral program of additional education children had a possibility to visit the seaport of Tuapse and the tower of the vessel traffic movement system (VTMS) in the seaport of Tuapse.

During the excursion, employees of FSUE “Rosmorport” told the young shift participants about the particularities of the seaport, the location of terminals and protecting structures, the nature of processed cargoes and the types of vessels arriving at the port. Children showed  great interest in the VTMS tower, its purpose, the operators' functions, necessary education and skills, and the acquisition range.

The work of VTMS is aimed at ensuring navigation safety, protecting the environment and reducing the losses of the operating time. VTMS of the port of Tuapse was built to increase navigation safety and improve transport control.

Upon completion of the excursion Deputy Director of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch, head of the Tuapse Directorate Yuri Turishchev wished children good and educational rest.

The unique additional education project, which is carried out by FSUE “Rosmorport”, plays a rather important role in patriotic education of the younger generation. It is aimed at promotion of the professions of the port and supporting maritime traditions.

FSUE “Rosmorport” presents the program worked out by a group of experts. The program allows teenagers to learn about interaction between human beings and gales, strengthen respect for the glorious past of Russia as a sea power.

Children take part in traditional types of maritime activities: rigging, semaphore and naval architecture. Children will learn to make sails, handle ships, tie reef knots and read the stars in open sea.
