Information on Icebreaker Support in the Seaports of Russia as of February 20, 2017

Icebreakers of FSUE “Rosmorport” have escorted 3 861 vessels during the 2016-2017 period.

Arctic Basin
Icebreaking operations in the water area of Sabetta seaport are performed by Moskva and Tor icebreakers. Number of vessels escorted since the beginning of winter navigation amounts to 67.

White Sea
The following icebreakers are performing icebreaker assistance in the area: Dikson, Kapitan Kosolapov, Novorossisk, Kapitan Evdokimov and Kapitan Chadaev. Number of vessels escorted since the beginning of winter navigation amounts to 230.

Gulf of Finland
Number of vessels escorted since the beginning of winter navigation amounts to 1 167. 13 icebreakers of North-Western Basin Branch are in operational service.

Azov Sea
Four icebreakers: Kapitan Moshkin, Kapitan Chudinov, Kapitan Demidov and Kapitan Krutov escort vessels to Azov, Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog and Yeisk seaports. Number of vessels escorted since the beginning of winter navigation amounts to 1 771.

Caspian Sea
Kapitan Chechkin, Kapitan Metsaik and Kapitan Bukayev icebreakers escort vessels through the Volga-Caspian Seaway Canal. Number of vessels escorted since the beginning of winter navigation amounts to 512.

Far East Basin
Krasin icebreaker provides icebreaker assistance in Vanino seaport. Number of vessels escorted since the beginning of winter navigation – 76. 38 vessels have been escorted in Magadan seaport.

The world's largest diesel icebreaker fleet, which includes 36 icebreakers of various capacities, ensures year-round accessibility to the seaports of the country.
