Decision on Providing Water Body for Use in Sabetta Seaport Obtained

Federal Water Resources Agency Lower Ob Basin Department by its decision dated 02.09.2014 No. 00-15.02.03.003-М-RLBV-Т-2014-02515/00 provided the water body with the total area of 0,0936 sq. km, located in the Ob Bay of the Kara Sea near the mouth of the Sabettayaha river, for the use of FSUE “Rosmorport”.

The named water body is meant for placement of the hydraulic structures being under construction including the south-eastern and the north-western ice protection facilities.

The ice protection facilities, being constructed at the commission of the enterprise, are the part of the main facilities of Sabetta Seaport being under construction, and are designed to protect the berths and port operations against the negative effects of ice.

The start of construction and installation works on the construction of ice protecting facilities in the Ob Bay is planned for October 2014.

For information:
The south-east ice protecting facility is structurally divided into 5 sections. The root part of the structure consists of 4 sections of shore protection with total length of more than 2.8 km and the deep part of 773.8 meters long.

The north-west ice protecting facility is structurally divided into 2 sections: the root part with the length of 760 meters and the deep part of 510 meters long.

The design of deep-water parts of both ice protecting structures represents the pile foundation of a series of steel pipes embedded in increments of 3.2 meters and two rows of pipe rabbet embedded in increments of 1.6 meters. The pile foundation is combined with the reinforced concrete foundation with the thickness of 2 meters, providing joint work of piles, and the body of the structure is filling with the gravelly sand.

The top marks are +3 meters in the main areas and +5 meters on the heads of the ice protecting structures.
