The FSUE "Rosmorport" honoured with the gratitude for participation in the Arctic expedition

The Federal Agency on Subsoil Use highly appreciated the FSUE "Rosmorport" activity on maintainance of the Acrtic research expedition aimed at the estimation of the outer border of the continental shelf of the Russian Federation.

Alexandr Popov, the head of the Rosnedr, sent a gratitude letter to the FSUE "Rosmorport" General Director Andrei Lavrishchev. He expressed thankfulness for "high-standard organization and significant contribution to implementation of the important state aim".

"Mutual understanding in joint work if Captain Dranitsyn and Dixon icebreakers' crews and also of the expedition team, appeared a vivid example of succesful interdepartamental cooperation", - underlined in the letter.

The document also underlines high professionalism of icebreakers' captains Alexandr Erkulev and Sergey Tropinin, who made a lot to make the expedition's success.

Captain Dranitsyn and Dixon, the FSUE "Rosmorport" icebreakers,
were involved in arrangement of integrated geological and geophysical research to find grounds for the continental nature of the Mendeleev elevation in the Arctic Sea and to set outer border of the continental shelf of the Russian Federation in the central part of the Arctic Basin. The research itself was conducted in August–September at high latitudes of the East Siberian, Chukchi and Laptev seas in complicated maritime and weather conditions.
