FSUE “Rosmorport” successfully completes the technical re-equipment of the Yeisk Sea Area A1 GMDSS Coast Station

FSUE "Rosmorport" has completed the technical re-equipment of the Yeisk Sea Area A1 GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) Coast Station.

In the period from April 2023 to May 2024, the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch of the enterprise carried out technical re-equipment of the base radio stations “Spit Dolga” and “Primorsko-Akhtarsk” replacing outdated and out-of-service devices with modern equipment of domestic production, including VHF antennas, remotely controlled transmitter-receivers, universal modems of digital selective call.

Earlier, in 2018, the branch carried out technical upgrade of the equipment of the control center and the base radio station “Yeisk”, which increased their operational reliability. The software used in the operation of the control center and the base radio station is included in the register of domestic software.

The Yeisk Sea Area A1 GMDSS Coast Station carries out continuous radio watch and radio exchange with vessels in the VHF band using digital selective call and radiotelephony, provides operational radiotelephone communication with vessels and the marine rescue coordination center of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “The Administration of Maritime ports of the Azov sea” for the organization of search and rescue operations. The equipment of the coast station enables automatic execution of distress, urgency and security call processing procedures using digital selective call technology with vessels in the eastern area of Azov Sea and Taganrog Bay.

The Yeisk Sea Area A1 GMDSS Coast Station was put into operation in 2000 and was transferred to the economic management of FSUE “Rosmorport” in 2004. It includes the control center, base radio station “Yeisk”, located on the territory of the seaport of Yeisk, with a range of 23 nautical miles; base radio station “Spit Dolga”, located on the Spit Dolgaya, with a range of 25 nautical miles; base radio station “Primorsko-Akhtarsk” in the town of Primorsko-Akhtarsk with a range of 25 nautical miles.
