On July 26, 2020, the Khersones training sailing ship of the FSUE "Rosmorport" Crimean branch for the fourth time in a row opened a holiday dedicated to the Russian Navy Day, which took place in the hero city of Sevastopol.

In accordance with the plan for the celebrations developed by the command of the Black Sea Fleet, after the completion of the solemn part of the maritime parade, the Khersones frigate under sail was the first to enter the Sevastopol Bay, opening the water sports festival in honor of Russian Navy Day and symbolizing the historical entry of the Russian ships squadron into the Akhtiar Bay.

As part of the celebration, a theatrical performance was organized for Sevastopol residents and guests of the city, in which viewers could see episodes of the creation and combat path of the Black Sea Fleet, historical moments of the Great Patriotic War and the liberation of Sevastopol, as well as the combat capabilities of the modern Russian Navy.

In total, more than 30 warships, submarines and boats, 14 auxiliary vessels, about 30 aircraft and more than 50 units of equipment of the army corps of the Black Sea Fleet took part in the holiday.

Cadets of the Institute of Water Transport named after G.Y. Sedov - a branch of the Federal State-Funded Educational Institution of Higher Education "State Maritime University named after admiral F.F. Ushakov" (Rostov-on-Don), who are currently undergoing training practice on the Khersones sailing ship, together with the crew prepared for this significant event for two weeks.

It was not easy for the crew and cadets to prepare for the holiday. They had to put a lot of effort and work in order to learn how to accurately and harmoniously control the sailing equipment of the ship. However, under the guidance of the main crew of the sailing ship - professionals of the maritime business - the cadets performed all the actions perfectly.

Upon sailing into the Sevastopol Bay, the frigate passed along the formation of ships lined up in a parade line, and the central stand with the command of the Black Sea Fleet and guests of honor located on it. The cadets and the crew of the sailing ship removed all sails in two minutes, after which the Khersones frigate neatly approached and moored at the pier of the Sevastopol sea terminal.
