July 1, 2020 is the crucial day to vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation. However, in order to provide maximum safety for citizens’ health, polling stations will run for the entire week. Totally, on the first day of the voting about 250 polling stations have been opened in Sochi, and one of them works aboard the Knyaz Vladimir cruise liner.

“The voting is the expression of the civic position,” director of Black Sea Cruises LLC Viktor Glukhovshchenko said. “By specifics of the profession sailors don’t always have the opprotunity to express their position. In order to prevent sailors from drawing away from their work we put forth an initiative to organize the voting aboard the liner due to the fact that 99% of crewmembers are not residents of Sochi. The city electoral committee made a concession”, he said.

The acting master of the ship, Denis Pavlyuk, decided to vote on the amendments to the Fundamental Law. “Not every day the amendments are made to the Constitution. This is the priority issue, and we take a serious view on this subject. When we got to learn that the voting would be held aboard the liner we were pleasantly surprised. We feel united and responsible for the future of Russia,” Pavlyuk added.

The voting was held in compliance with all safety requirements. The electors have been given masks and gloves, the temperature has been checked. Only one person can vote in a hall where the voting has been organized. It took a little time to vote: members of the electoral commission checked documents, passports’ data, made notes in the lists and issued ballots. A polling booth and a ballot box have been installed in the reception zone of the liner.

We should remind that Black Sea Cruises LLC was found by FSUE “Rosmorport” pursuant to the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. The Knyaz Vladimir cruise liner has been performing navigation between the cities of Krasnodar Territory and Crimea since 2017.
