The FSUE “Rosmorport” acceptance board works in Feodosia on May 12-30, 2020 to accept a project “The Construction, Reconstruction and Upgrading of Navigation Safety Facilities in the Seaports of Crimean Peninsula. The Reconstruction of Navigation Safety Systems of the Seaport of Feodosia”.

Earlier, the construction and assembly works were completed. The navigation safety system consisting of the vessel tracking management system (VTMS) and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS A1) was completely reconstructed. The reconstruction of navigation safety systems facilities is conditioned by the replacement of outmoded equipment to increase navigation safety and effectiveness, and to protect the environment.

Under the project, a new building of the vessel tracking management system center was built. A radar post was upgraded. In order to keep the historical look of the city and prevent damage to facilities of cultural heritage heavy equipment was not used. The three-floor VTMS center was built taking into account the historical look of the seaport on the southeastern coast of the peninsula. At the radar post technological equipment is placed on the metallic derrick with a height of 37.5 meters. Located on Feodosia Cape the radar post gives information on navigation circumstances to the VTMS center in the zone of its action and maintains contacts with vessels.
