New tug boat keel laying ceremony held at Onega Shipyard by FSUE “Rosmorport” order

An ASD TUG 3413 Ice-Arc5 azimuth tug boat keel laying ceremony was held at the Onega Shipyard on May 15, 2020. The tug boat is being built for the FSUE “Rosmorport” Arkhangelsk Branch.

Amidst the unfavorable epidemiological situation the keel laying ceremony, traditionally held in a solemn atmosphere, was not attended by representatives of the enterprise’s employees and guests. The event involved Deputy Minister for Economic Development and Industry of the Republic of Karelia, Viktor Svirsky, and the yard’s management.

The new azimuth tug boat will have strengthened hull and possess of sea-keeping performance, maneuverability and towing characteristics that meet the requirements of Russia’s shipping industry. The tug boat, which is optimized for ice conditions, will carry out towing operations of vessels, other floating facilities at low temperatures of minus 40 degrees Celsius. It is also capable of extinguishing a fire.
