Yuri Maslyukov dredger will carry out dredging operations in the seaport of Kaliningrad

The Yuri Maslyukov contemporary dredger, which expanded the FSUE “Rosmorport” fleet at the end of last year, arrived in the seaport of Kaliningrad on February 11, 2020. The dredger is preparing to start dredging operations in the water area of the Kaliningrad Shipping Canal where it will have to excavate over 600,000 cubic meters of soil. Another two dredgers of the same project – the Severnaya Dvina and the Beloye More dredgers have already been working on the main navigable facility of the seaport since November 2019. Over this period the dredgers have excavated over 146.9 thousand cubic meters of soil. In the spring the Kronshlot self-propelled dredger will reinforce this particular group of the dredging fleet of the enterprise. The dredging operations on the canal amounted to 1.3 million cubic meters in 2020.

It is not incidental that FSUE “Rosmorport” uses the contemporary and powerful dredgers to ensure navigation safety and maintain the passport’s depths of the Kaliningrad Shipping Canal. The sediment accumulation is high and the term of the operations is limited according to the environmental requirements.
