FSUE “Rosmorport” calls for accessible social environment

In July 2019 an international festival “Sails of the Spirit” was held in Kaliningrad under the auspices of FSUE “Rosmorport”. Its specifics are the inclusion of people with special need in the team. The project is held for the ninth time, and social events, master classes and other round-table meetings have been organized within it. All these events are devoted to inclusion in different world cities. The Kaliningrad Directorate of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch provided vessels to hold sailing races and provide the work of the panel of judges.

The enterprise actively realizes a social program to develop the accessible environment. FSUE “Rosmorport” has worked out a plan of events (a roadmap) aimed at increasing accessibility of facilities and services rendered due to the main criteria – accessibility, security, information and convenience for all people with limited mobility.

When designing, building and reconstructing facilities of the infrastructure FSUE “Rosmorport” takes into account requirements to make buildings and structures accessible for the disabled and other groups with limited mobility.

Buildings of sea terminals in the seaports of Sochi, Murmansk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, as well as administrative buildings in the seaports are equipped with ramps, handholds, anti-slip bearings for people in wheelchair. For convenience of weak sighted people the facilities are equipped with Braille script tactile pads and ground tactile passenger warning signs. Aid call buttons are envisaged. Car parking areas for the disabled are located at seaports and they have corresponding marks and signs. All modern requirements related to buildings and structures accessibility are taken into account when building the international sea terminal for cruise and passenger vessels in Pionersky, the Kaliningrad region, and the complex of the coastal and maritime infrastructure in the seaport of Gelendzhik. In the near future the mnemo tactile sound system is expected to be developed in facilities, on light-emitting diode displays and a special and comfortable zone for invalids and people with limited mobility are planned to be installed in the waiting room.

When designing and building vessels FSUE “Rosmorport” also takes measures to improve the experience of staying aboard a vessel for people with limited mobility. The enterprise uses up-to-date practices to make sea transport and the seaport infrastructure accessible for people with restricted mobility.

The enterprise’s personnel includes members of working groups of the Commission for the Disabled Affairs at the President of the Russian Federation and the Methodic Council of Russia’s Transport Ministry to deal with creating an accessible environment for the disabled and for people with limited mobility.
