FSUE “Rosmorport” starts dredging operations in the seaport of Sabetta

Dredgers of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Arkhangelsk Branch arrived at the seaport of Sabetta on July 28, 2019 to carry out dredging operations.

The Severnaya Dvina and Beloye More trailing suction hopper dredgers will carry out repair dredging operations in the shortest possible time in the water areas of berths NoNo 2-4, technological berths and on the approach canal of the seaport of Sabetta.

FSUE “Rosmorport” has to carry out dredging operations to the extent of about 500,000 cubic meters which will help remove interseasonal accumulation at navigational facilities and restore depths for safe navigation. The area of dredging operations is about 4.2 square kilometers. All dredging operations are carried out in strict compliance with the requirements of environment law.

The Severnaya Dvina and Beloye More trailing suction hopper dredgers of TSHD 2000 Project, built in 2016 and 2018 respectively, meet the up-to-date requirements applied to the work amidst severe climatic conditions of the northern region. Dredgers have necessary high-efficiency up-to-date dredging equipment and are able to operate on a seaway of up to 2.0 meters. It is to be noted that during the 2018-2019 inter-navigation period, these vessels carried out repair dredging operations in the Baltic region in the seaports of Ust Luga, Big Port St Petersburg and Kaliningrad.
