Sea trials of the Rabochaya self-propelled hopper barge end successfully

Sea trials of the Rabochaya self-propelled hopper barge were completed at the Onego Shipyard on June 7, 2019. During the trials, the admission board checked the operation status and application requirements, the functioning of automation, navigation and communication aids. The vessel showed full readiness for operation and good capabilities.

Built at the Onego Shipyard under the order of FSUE “Rosmorport”, the Rabochaya self-propelled hopper barge of KM Ice 1 R3-RSN AUT3 Class is designed for transporting soil from dredgers to the unloading site as a part of a dredging convoy with a mechanical dredge or a pipeline dredge when dredging operations are being carried out.

The barge is equipped with the bottom system of hull opening. The main engines are placed in the back hull of the barge covered by protection shields, which allow for operatively servicing and making the aggregate replacement of mechanisms. Screw-rudders are inside the barge’s body and there is a possibility to regulate the penetration of a screw and raise them from the water for servicing and repairing afloat without mooring the barge.

The barge was put afloat at the Onego Shipyard in September 2018. Vessels of this project are designed for the operation in the basins of the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea and the Baltic Sea.
