FSUE “Rosmorport” takes part in International Baltic Transport Forum

The X International Baltic Transport Forum was held in Kaliningrad on September 6-7, 2018.

One of the major transport events in the Baltic region involved representatives of federal and regional authorities, heads and owners of largest international maritime, railway, and automobile operators, stevedoring companies and cargo owners. Employees of FSUE “Rosmorport” also took part in the forum.

On the sidelines of the forum the participants discussed the development of the transport infrastructure and transit, promising projects in the transport sphere, issues related competition in the Baltic region and other issues.

FSUE “Rosmorport” Deputy General Director for Navigation Safety Andrei Gorodishtyan presented a report “Norm-setting Initiatives in the Sphere of Maritime and Inland Shipping”.

Deputy director of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch, head of the Kaliningrad Directorate Andrei Moshkov spoke about the enterprise’s activities on the development and operation of the port infrastructure and the implementation of the state targeted program “The Development of Russia’s Transport System”. In his speech he focused in detail on possibilities and prospects for the development of the seaport of Kaliningrad.

As part of the business program of the forum, the participants had a unique opportunity to visit a construction site of the international sea terminal for receiving cruise and cargo passenger vessels in Pionersky where a presentation of the future complex was held for them. The project that is being implemented by FSUE “Rosmorport” under the Russian state program “The Development of the Transport System” will allow for creating opportunities for developing the tourist cluster in the country. Under the project, berths will be built to receive cruise vessels with maximum flow of passengers through the sea terminal in the amount of 300,000 people per year and maximum flow of cargo in the amount of up to 90,000 pieces of cargo transport per year that will facilitate the dynamic development of the Kaliningrad region in the field of maritime ferry and cruise shipping.
