FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrei Lavrishchev has taken part in the working trip of the Russian Deputy Transport Minister, head of the Federal Agency for Maritime and Inland Shipping Yuri Tsvetkov to Chukotka Autonomous Area on August 29-30, 2018.

During the visit, the officials attended the seaport of Anadyr, inspected Berth No 10 on the left bank of the Anadyr Lagoon in the settlement of Ugolnye Kopi, as well as the construction site of the ferry passenger berth.

Under the agenda of the trip, the officials met with Chukotka Autonomous Area Governor Roman Kopin to discuss the area’s transport infrastructure. Special attention was paid to the situation with transport accessibility in the area and promising projects on the development of seaports. The participants in the meeting noted that most of the events on the development of the infrastructure are linked with working out such major investment projects as the construction of the Pevek-Bilibino air track, the Omsukchan-Peschanka energy bridge, the Baimsky mining and processing plant and the construction of a floating nuclear thermoelectric plant.

The ports in Eastern Arctic Region, such as the seaports of Anadyr, Pevek, Provideniya, Egvekinot, Berigovsky, and Tiksi, are tied into a common transport system with European and Russian Far Eastern ports, and with the embouchures of Siberian navigable rivers. As of today the FSUE “Rosmorport” Anadyr Branch takes one of the key positions to organize the functioning of port complexes located in Russia’s Extreme Northeast. The enterprise renders comprehensive navigation safety services in the water areas of the seaports of the region.

The priority of navigation in the Chukotka Autonomous Area is supply of goods to the Northern Territories (Severny Zavoz) which is the main method to supply general cargoes, coal and oil products for residents of the northern part of the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts of Russia.

Honorable guests visited the Chukotka Heritage museum center to make themselves familiar with the major events of the region and its phenomena. The collections of the museum center reflect historic facts and political, economic and cultural status of the region.
