On August 2, 2018 participants in the summer shift of the Ocean all-Russian children’s center visited the Nadezhda sailing ship. Several days ago the FSUE “Rosmorport” vessel arrived at the Emar Bay of the Gulf of Ussuri. The three-mast frigate entered the water area at night time in full sail lightened with colorful lights. More than one and a half thousand children of the center greeted the ship onshore. Among them were the participants in the summer program “Children of the World” from Russia, China, Laos, Vietnam, Japan, Belarus, France, Serbia, Kazakhstan and Myanma.

An intensive program has been prepared especially for the jubilee events. On August 1, cadets of the maritime educational institutions, undergoing training on the frigate, attended the children’s center, met and talked with the participants in the shift, organized all-round master classes. Joint taekwondo trainings, friendly volleyball, football and basketball matches have been also held. The evening ended by a holiday concert, which had been prepared especially for the crewmembers of the ship.

The next day the children made a return visit to the Nadezhda sailing ship. An excursion has been organized for the young guests. They studied the frigate’s construction. The children were shocked by the beauty of the sailing ship and admired by the history of maritime voyages and showed interest in training programs, asked many questions of knowledge and skills, which are necessary for real sailors.

The Nadezhda ship call is timed to the celebrations marking the Anniversary of the Ocean children’s center. The center will soon mark the 35^th anniversary.
