The Khersones sailing ship took part in the EXTREME Crimea international youth festival, which was held in the Republic of Crimea, near Cape Tarkhankut, on July 22-27, 2018. 

The vessel docked at the bay in the vicinity of the event. Cadets of the sectoral educational institutions are undergoing training on the Khersones sailing ship and they have taken part in sportive competitions of the EXTREME Crimea festival.

The cadets played beach football and volleyball, and tried hand in parkour. The rope war competitions on cayaks were very fascinating. Moreover, during the festival, different trainings and master classes on such sports as kayaking and windsurfing have been held. Apart from the sportive program, children listened to a series of lectures and attended musical performances.

This is the fifth annual festival of extreme sports enthusiasts that is held in Crimea. The event made the top 3 of the best sportive festivals of the CIS according to the Russian Federal State Statistics Service, and it was recognised the best project of event tourism in Russia in 2017. The Khersones sailing ship and its crewmembers took part in the festival for the first time.
