A sailing regatta timed to the Day of Sea and River Fleet Workers was held in Moscow’s Khimki Reservoir on July 1, 2018. The team of FSUE “Rosmorport” and nine teams representing other enterprises showed their sailing skills.

The regatta involved J70 class fast sailing yachts capable of building up the speed of up to 20 nautical knots (36 km/h). The National Sailing League, which is the major project of the All-Russia Sailing Federation, uses yachts of this class. Each sailing ship had four crewmembers and a skipper. The distance varied from one miles to 2.5 miles (1.85-4.6 km) depending on the wind capacity and its direction.

The sailing regatta is a series of races when all teams start simultaneously during five minutes. The success of the race depends on tactics elected by a skipper, on joint actions taken by the team and on the wind, of course.

The program of competitions included four spectacular races. Upon overall standings the team of FSUE “Rosmorport” came second.
