The Mir sailing ship takes part in sea festival in Wilhelmshaven

A sea festival ended in Wilhelmshaven on July 1, 2018. The Mir sailing ship took part in the festival.

The FSUE “Rosmorport” frigate became one of the most brilliant guests of the major city holiday, which had lasted in the German port for five days. The event involved 14 other ships from different world countries.

During the mooring, the Mir sailing ship worked in open board mode. Excursions and master classes were organized for all who wished. Cadets showed team cohesion, fleet hospitability and maritime solidarity.

The event’s participants expected a fascinating entertainment program: musical concerts and sports competitions, shows and fairs, cooking festivals and children’s performances. In addition, during the festival, ships’ models and Ahoi-Wilhelmshaven photographs have been exhibited. Under the maritime program, the show with the involvement of motor and sailing yachts has been organized. Towing boats have performed water dancing accompanied by modern and classical musical compositions. The festival ended with colorful fireworks.

After the close of the festival the sailing ship left the German seaport for North European countries to take part in The Tall Ships Races 2018.
