FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director takes part in meeting on development of Primorye seaports

A meeting chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev was held in the Primorye Territory on June 2, 2018. The meeting was devoted to the economic development of the Far East of Russia.

The session involved chief federal inspector for the Primorye Territory Vadim Zdorenko, Rosmorrechflot Deputy Head Nadezhda Zhikhareva, Acting Governor of the Primorye Territiory Andrey Tarasenko, FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Lavrishchev, representatives of Russia’s Federal Service on Hydrometeorology and Monitoring of the Environment and management of LLC “Management Port Company”, JSC “Vostochny Port” (Eastern Port).

The meeting focused on the economic development of the Far East and control over the environmental situation in Nakhodka.

Trutnev said the geographical location of Primorye seaports and the relief of the coastal line created the unique possibility for the development of the district’s port and logistics sphere.

The participants in the session discussed a supposed series of measures aimed at ensuring favorable environmental conditions for the life and health of the population of Nakhodka and other ports of the Primorye Territory. As of today coercive measures taken upon unconscientious stevedoring companies have been toughened. In addition, it is expected that transition to technology of closed coal handling will be made till 2020. This technology will help minimize the negative impact of coal powder on the environment.
