The St Petersburg International Economic Forum was opened in St Petersburg on May 24, 2018.

This year during the forum, panel sessions and discussions, round-table meetings and summits, the presentation of major projects and other events are planned to be held. FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Lavrishchev takes part in the forum.

The international forum is the major world platform to discuss key issues that Russia, developing markets and the entire world are facing. During discussions at the forum, Russian and foreign politicians, scientists, experts, heads of companies and business associations will discuss the state and prospects of the world economy.

On the eve of the openness of the forum Lavrishchev took part in a round-table meeting “The Development of Shipbuilding and Navigation on the Eurasian Continent”.

The round-table meeting also involved Russian Deputy Transport Minister, Rosmorrechflot head Viktor Olersky, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee for the Economic Policy, the Industry, the Innovation Development and Entrepreneurship Vladimir Gutenev, member of the Collegium for the Industry and the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission Sergei Sidorsky, President of JSC “OSK” Alexei Rakhmanov, adviser to the Greek premier Dimitrios Velanis, chairman of the board of directors of LLC “Vodokhod”, deputy chairman of the Council of the Russian Navigation Chamber Rishat Bagautdinov and other representatives of the industry.

The participants in the round-table meeting discussed prospects for the development of maritime and river navigation in Eurasia, major tasks of civil shipbuilding in modern times. In addition, the meeting focused on a possibility to deploy foreign shipboard equipment on the territory of Russia. In his speech Victor Olersky said, the government had approved a package of decisions to support shipbuilding. These are interest rate compensation, waste grant and the launch of a leasing mechanism, he said.
