FSUE “Rosmorport” continues to provide icebreaker support in Russia’s Arctic seaports

Since the beginning of the 2017-2018 navigation in Russia’s freezing seaports icebreakers of FSUE “Rosmorport” have provided support for 5,879 vessels.

Icebreakers have provided support for 326 vessels in the White Sea, 2,258 vessels in the Gulf of Finland, 2.461 vessels in the Sea of Azov. Since the beginning of the winter navigation in the Caspian Sea icebreakers have provided support for 512 vessels and for 302 vessels in the seaports of Vanino and Magadan of the Far Eastern Basin.

At present, the works to ensure vessels’ movement continue in the Arctic Basin by icebreakers – the Moskva, the Vladivostok and the Kapitan Dranitsyn. Supports have been provided in the seaport of Sabetta (144 vessels), the Pechora Sea (17 vessels) and the Franz Josef Land Archipelago (one vessel).

The FSUE “Rosmorport” world-largest diesel icebreaker fleet, which includes 36 icebreakers of different capacity, ensures all-year-round access to Russian seaports.
