A jubilee action “Rosmorport. The Distance is not an Obstacle” devoted to the 15^th anniversary of FSUE “Rosmorport” was held on Sakhalin Island on May 11-13, 2018.

Employess of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Sakhalin Branch made a car rally to Cape Krilyon. The event also involved representatives of OJSC “Korsakov Commercial Seaport”, OJSC “Sakhalin Shipping Corporation” and employees of stevedoring companies. 

The route started from the Shebunino settlement of Nevelsky District. Then the participants in the action overcame impassable roads along the coast of the Tatar Strait. Cape Kuznetsov will be the next stage of the route.

The FSUE “Rosmorport” jubilee flag has been hoisted on the southernmost and picturesque area of the island from where one can observe illimitable spaces of the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk, and La Perouse Strait dividing the islands of Sakhalin and Hokkaido. During the route, the participants in the action passed 472 kilometers.

During the car rally, employees of the Sakhalin Branch visited an obelisk erected on the edge of Cape Krilyon to pay tribute to Soviet soldiers perished in the liberation of South Sakhalin from Japanese imperialists in August-September 1945. The branch’s employees paid tribute to the soldiers and laid wreaths to the monument.

The solemn action continued a series of festive events devoted to the 15^th jubilee of FSUE “Rosmorport”. The festive events began on March 13, 2018 by the Murmansk Branch. The jubilee flag was hoisted on the north-westernmost point of Russia’s mainland – on Cape Nemetsky of Rybachy Peninsula. Then the flags were hoisted by the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch and the Kaliningrad Directorate of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch.

The Far Eastern Basin Branch will be the next participant in the action. Then the action will take place in the south, i.e. in the Makhachkala Branch.
