The Mir sailing ship congratulates the seaport of Hamburg on its anniversary!

On May 10-13, 2018 the Mir sailing ship took part in the celebrations marking the 829th anniversary of the seaport of Hamburg.

By tradition, the world-major port festival has been held in the city in honor of the holiday.

Over 300 ships from different corners of the world – historic sailing ships, military ships, cruise vessels, yachts and tugboats took part in the grandiose show. These are not all participants in the holiday. Residents and guests of the city succeeded in visiting many of these vessels, including The Mir frigate. During the festival, an open board has been organized on the ship. Cadets undergoing training organize daily excursions for those who wish to demonstrate the frigate’s construction and lifestyle on the ship. Visitors have been given an opportunity to stand abaft the wheel and ring the bell.

The festival’s entertainment program included unique musical performances, museum expositions, attractions and different sportive competitions. The parade of vessels, in which the Mir sailing ship has taken part, has become the most expectative event. The fireworks, which tinged the sky with clear colors, has become the culmination of the festivities.
