The Nadezhda frigate starts its first training voyage of this year

On April 24, 2018 the sailing ship Nadezhda left the Vladivostok seaport and headed to the Sea of Japan.

The ship of FSUE “Rosmorport” has gone on its first training trip with 118 cadets of the G.I. Nevelskoy Maritime State University onboard.

The cadets will practice their skills in ship navigation, and operation of ship power plants, electrical and automation equipment. They will also attend lectures on navigation, navigation systems, and the main structural elements of the ship. But the most exciting part of the training is sailing on the open sea.

The training voyage will last until the middle of May to allow future seamen to acquire basic sailing skills and meet the navigation qualification requirement necessary for their further career in the maritime industry.

The Nadezhda frigate was thoroughly prepared for long voyages in 2018: it underwent inter-navigational repairs, with the decking fully replaced, had new boat davits installed, drinking tanks completely renovated, and electromechanical equipment overhauled.
