Information on FSUE “Rosmorport” icebreaker support in Russian seaports as of April 19, 2018

Since the beginning of 2017-2018 winter navigation FSUE “Rosmorport” icebreakers have provided support for over 5,700 vessels in the freezing seaports of Russia.

The Arctic Basin
The Moskva icebreaker is providing icebreaker support in the water area of the seaport of Sabetta. Since the icebreaker period has started, the icebreaker has escorted 119 vessels.

The White Sea
The Dikson, the Kapitan Yevdokimov, the Kapitan Kosolapov and the Kapitan Chadaev icebreakers provide support for vessels in this area. Since the start of winter navigation the icebreakers have escorted 267 vessels.

The Gulf of Finland
Fourteen icebreakers of the North-Western Basin Branch are involved in providing services in this area. Since the start of navigation 2,254 vessels have been escorted by the icebreakers.

The Sea of Azov
The icebreaker support period in the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog and Yeisk has ended. 2,461 vessels have been escorted since the start of winter navigation.

The Caspian Sea
The period of icebreaker escorts in the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya has ended. The Kapitan Chechkin, the Kapitan Metsayk and the Kapitan Bukaev icebreakers have provided support for 512 vessels.

The Far Eastern Basin
The icebreaker support period in the seaport of Vanino has ended on April 3, 2018. In total, 176 vessels have been escorted since the beginning of winter navigation. 
The Magadan icebreaker continues to provide assistance in the seaport of Magadan. 104 vessels has been escorted since the start of winter navigation.

The world’s largest diesel icebreaker fleet, which includes 36 icebreakers of different capacity, ensures years round accessibility to the country’s seaports.
