FSUE “Rosmorport” Deputy General Director for capital construction makes working trip to Kaliningrad

FSUE “Rosmorport” Deputy General Director for Capital Construction Vladislav Rassykhin and aide to the General Director Vadim Antipov made a working trip to the Kaliningrad Directorate of the North-Western Basin Branch on March 12-14, 2018.

The priority of the working visit was to inspect the construction of an international sea terminal to accept cruise and cargo passenger vessels in Pionersky.

The project is carried out by FSUE “Rosmorport” under the Russian state program “The Development of the Transport System” and the project will facilitate the creation of additional possibilities in the future to develop the tourist cluster in the country. The construction was started on February 1, 2018.

The international sea terminal in the Kaliningrad region is one of the key infrastructural projects in the North-Western Federal District. The project is implemented in pursuance of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Instruction No Pr-2368 of October 05, 2013 and Russian Government Resolution No AD-P9-7317 of October 14, 2013. Under the project, berths will be built to accept cruise vessels with the maximum passenger flow of 300.000 people per year and maximum cargo flow of up to 90,000 units of cargo transport per year that will facilitate the dynamic development of the Kaliningrad region in the sphere of sea ferry and cruise shipping.

During the trip, the representatives of the enterprise assessed the reconstruction of the aids to navigation base (in the settlement of Rybachy) and Berth No 2 of cargo passenger motor ferry and railway ferry terminals in Baltiysk with the capacity of 300,000 TEU per year.

The officials conferred with general contractors to discuss the construction of these facilities and the reconstruction of dikes of the Kaliningrad Seaway Canal, repair dredging, maintenance and services of refueling stations, the reconstruction and technical re-equipment of VTMS and GMDSS. The talks were also held with representatives of the Sodruzhestvo Group of Companies, OJSC “Kaliningrad Commercial Seaport” and LLC “Baltiysk Stevedoring Company”. The talks focused on maintenance and modernization of hydraulic works of the seaport of Kaliningrad.
