“Rosmorport. The Distance is not an Obstacle” action starts

The first event within the “Rosmorport. The Distance is not an Obstacle” action devoted to the 15th anniversary of FSUE “Rosmorport” was held in Murmansk on March 13, 2018.

Employees of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Murmansk and Arkhangelsk Branches left for the north-westernmost tip of Russia’s mainland – Nemetsky Cape of Rybachy Peninsula where the enterprise’s jubilee flag had been planted. Employees made it on snow-going vehicles to the coast of the ice free Barents Sea.

During the expedition, its participants overcame over 150 km of snow roads by crossing the Musta-Tunturi Pike and sites of heroic battles between Soviet soldiers and fascist aggressors for the Polar region in 1941-1944. Moreover, the participants passed the peninsulas of Sredny and Rybachy. During the expedition, the treacherous northern weather tested out the participants: the shining sun has over and over changed snow flurries.

By successfully reaching Nemetsky Cape the enterprise’s employees planted the FSUE “Rosmorport” flag in a solemn atmosphere. The action was also supported by PJSC “Murmansk Commercial Seaport”, the management of which had passed all the route jointly with employees of FSUE “Rosmorport” and taken part in hoisting the jubilee flag.

Other branches of the enterprise will take part in the “Rosmorport. The Distance is not an Obstacle” action in the future. In the west the baton will be handed over to the Kaliningrad Directorate of the North-Western Basin Branch. The FSUE “Rosmorport” Makhachkala Branch will support the event in the south. The Sakhalin Branch and the Far Eastern Basin Branch will take part in the action on behalf of Russia’s East. This event will help show the scale of the enterprise and prove the FSUE “Rosmorport” key role in ensuring navigation safety, rendering services for vessels ashore and at sea, in seaports and on routes of the Northern Sea Route.
