New bridge boat put into operation in Petrozavodsk
In March 2018 a bridge boat across the Logmozersky Strait in Solomennoye was put into operation. The bridge boat was built on the Onezhsky Shipbuilding and Ship-Repairing Plant by order of the Administration of the Petrozavodsk City District.
For two months the facility has functioned in the test regime within reliability field testing. Specialists examined the state of the bridge’s structures under maximum transport weight amidst low temperatures. During the testing, the bridge withstood load under the project – both by weight and the dimensions of vehicles crossing the bridge.
Lighting and sets of traffic lights have been installed on the crossing. The new bridge is equipped with video observation units and video cameras. This equipment will be connected to the Safe City system in the future. Specialists noted that by the summer the angle of sloping ramp would decrease, that would make the crossing more comfortable.
The bridge was launched on November 17, 2017. Upon successful trials the bridge was towed off to the Logmozersky Strait.
