FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrei Lavrishchev discusses prospects for the enterprise’s activities in the Far East

FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrei Lavrishchev has made a working trip to the Far East to take part in several events aimed at implementing projects on the development of the region.

The Korean Investor Day was held in Vladivostok on March 5, 2018. The event involved Russian Deputy Prime Minister, presidential plenipotentiary envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, Russian Minister for the Far East Development Alexander Galushka, Primorsky Territory Acting Governor Andrei Tarasenko, chairman of the Presidential Committee on Northern Economic Cooperation Song Young-gil, and representatives of major Russian and Korean companies.

This was the second event aimed at developing mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and the Republic of Korea. The participants noted that the Investor Day was a good practice, which gave businessmen an additional opportunity to discuss potential projects on the Russian Far East. Within the Day their participants held talks on implementing investment projects of South Korean investors in the Far East. The South Korean Presidential Committee on Northern Economic Cooperation and the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East signed agreements on cooperation.

FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrei Lavrishchev and Director of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Basin Branch Viktor Vanyukov took part in discussions on the present state of Russian-South Korean bilateral economic cooperation, including on the development of container transportation on the Northern Sea Route.

The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East gathered for a final session on March 6, 2018.

The session was attended by Russian Deputy Prime Minister, presidential plenipotentiary envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, Russian presidential aide Igor Levitin, governors of Far Eastern regions, deputies and the public.

The participants in the session summed up the results of the development of the Far East over the last four years and determined the ministry’s action plans in 2018 and the next six years.

Trutnev said in a few years a total of 1.200 investment projects had been initiated in the region. A total of 3.7 trillion investments have been declared and 121 billion Rubles have been invested in projects.

Special attention was paid to easy-term loans for investors. According to Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East Alexander Galushka, businessmen, who implement their projects in the Far East, would be able to obtain an investment loan at Russian banks on special terms. The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East has prepared a resolution to this effect by instruction of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. 

At present, FSUE “Rosmorport” takes part in implementing a series of projects on the development of the port infrastructure of the Far East. These projects are aimed at meeting the region’s needs in cargo transshipment and passenger transportation, and strengthening the region’s the tourism appeal.
