FSUE “Rosmorport” Deputy General Director for Economics and Finance Yakov Bykov takes part in the Congress of Transport Workers of Russia

The Congress of Transport Workers of Russia was held in Moscow on March 5, 2018. This landmark event has been organized by the Russian Transport Ministry and the Union of Transport Workers of Russia. The Congress also involved representatives of bodies of power, heads of transport enterprises, members of trade unions and associations of transport workers.

A plenary session with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin became the key event of the Congress.

During his speech, Putin said the transport complex served the basis for the economic and social development. “The balanced, steady development of transport, the improvement of working conditions and competitiveness between Russian shipping carriers are the priority of our policy, the priority of the state and the seed for the growth of the country’s economy.”

Putin noted the need to use Russian competitive software as a serious resource for the development of transport. Moreover, the Russian president instructed the government and businessmen to discuss an issue on the creation of a modern environmental transport park.

On the same day a series of thematic round-table meetings have been held. Russian Transport Minister, Rosmorrechflot head Viktor Olersky, Director of the Russian Transport Ministry Department for State Policy in Maritime and Inland Transport Vitaly Klyuyev and FSUE “Rosmorport” Deputy Director-General for Economics and Finance Yakov Bykov and representatives of the industry took part in one of the round-table meetings.   

The participants in the meeting discussed regulatory affairs of marine and inland water transport, state control in the sphere of antimonopoly activities.

Special attention was paid to the development of river harbors and seaports and the reform of the Northern Sea Route management system.
