Information on FSUE “Rosmorport” icebreaker support in Russian seaports as of February 16

Since the beginning of 2017-2018 winter navigation FSUE “Rosmorport” icebreakers have provided support for almost two thousand vessels in the freezing seaports of Russia.

The Arctic Basin
The Moskva icebreaker is providing icebreaker support in the water area of the seaport of Sabetta. Since icebreaker period has started the icebreaker has escorted 67 vessels.

The White Sea
The Dikson, the Kapitan Yevdokimov, the Kapitan Kosolapov and the Kapitan Chadaev icebreakers provide support for vessels in this area. Since the start of winter navigation the icebreakers have escorted 47 vessels.

The Gulf of Finland
Fourteen icebreakers of the North-Western Basin Branch are involved in providing services in this area. Since the start of navigation 391 vessels have been escorted by the icebreakers.

The Sea of Azov
Five icebreakers and three icebreaking tugs are escorting vessels to the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog and Yeisk. 1123 vessels have been escorted since the start of winter navigation.

The Caspian Sea
The Kapitan Chechkin, the Kapitan Metsayk and the Kapitan Bukaev icebreakers are escorting vessels in the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya.
The icebreakers have provided support for 249 vessels since the start of winter navigation.

The Far Eastern Basin
Since February 3 the Krasin icebreaker has been performing icebreaker support services in the seaport of Vanino.
In total, 61 vessels have been escorted since the beginning of winter navigation, including the vessels escorted by the Kapitan Khlebnikov icebreaker that had been previously working in the seaport. The Magadan icebreaker has provided assistance for 43 vessels in the seaport of Magadan.

The world’s largest diesel icebreaker fleet, which includes 36 icebreakers of different capacity, ensures years round accessibility to the country’s seaports.
