FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director takes part in a congress “Hydraulic Engineering Structures and Dredging Works”

FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Lavrishchev took part in a congress, “Hydraulic Engineering Structures and Dredging Works”, in Moscow on February 7, 2018.

The General Director gave a report entitled “Promising Projects on the Seaport Infrastructure Development, Including the Construction of Hydraulic Engineering Structures and Dredging Works”. In his speech, the General Director said, in 2017 FSUE “Rosmorport” had carried out repair dredging works in the amount of 9.5 million cubic meters. At present, the enterprise has its own dredging fleet, including 30 vessels of different classes. Andrey Lavrishchev stressed that in order to reduce contractor engagement costs FSUE “Rosmorport” expands its own dredging fleet. The share of the scope of work carried out by the enterprise’s own equipment has already reached 65%. In the future it is planned to bring it to up to 70%, he said.

Under the Russian government’s directive, basins’ roadmaps on the development of seaports till the year 2020 (with an option to renew them till the year 2030), as well as on the development of short-range and far-range railway and motorway approaches toward these seaports have been worked out to synchronize the development of ports and the approaches toward them.

However, under the congress’ business agenda, FSUE “Rosmorport” and LLC Mordraga signed a memorandum of intent. Under the memorandum, both parties intend to develop mutually advantageous cooperation, exchange experience and technological developments in the sphere of dredging works.

The congress “Hydraulic Engineering Structures and Dredging Works” will last for two days and focus on modern technologies while carrying out dredging and hydraulic engineering operations in seaports.

Representatives of the Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport, the FSUE “Rosmorport” branches, the Federal Agency for Fishery, FSUE “National Fisheries Resources”, the Ministry for the Industry and Trade and major dredging companies have been invited to take part in the discussions.

In the context of running projects, representatives of the sector will discuss measures to improve the legal and regulatory framework in the field of seaports construction and water area design depths maintenance. The participants in the congress will also touch upon partnership between Russian and foreign companies to create dredging equipment on the territory of the Russian Federation.
