In 2017 FSUE “Rosmorport” carried out dredging operations in a volume of over 9.5 million cubic meters

Every year the enterprise organizes and carries out repair dredging operations on a large scale to obtain passport (project) boat sizes at facilities.

In 2017 FSUE “Rosmorport” carried out repair dredging operations on approach canals and water areas of the country’s seaports in the total amount of 9.5 million cubic meters.

The main and essential volume of works has been carried out on the Volga-Caspian Marine Shipping Canal (VCMSC) (4.5 million cubic meters), the Kaliningrad Shipping Canal (1.25 million cubic meters) and the Azov-Don Shipping Canal (0.5 million cubic meters) and the Taganrog approach canal (1.25 million cubic meters). However, repair taking has been made in water areas and on approach canals in the seaports of Arkhangelsk and Makhachkala, Tuapse, Temryuk, Kavkaz, Yeisk, Shakhtersk, Ust Luga and Novorossiysk.

Ensuring passport depths of approach canals and water areas of Russia’s seaports guarantees navigation safety of vessels by carrying out annual dredging operations.

The use of its own equipment to carry out repair dredging operations allows FSUE “Rosmorport” to achieve the considerable economic effect. This year the enterprise’s fleet has excavated 6.4 million cubic meters of bottom soil.

It is worth noting that at present, the up-to-date and high-tech fleet is a guarantor of accident-free navigation in the seaports and the necessary condition for the dynamical development and economic security of Russia. One of the tasks of FSUE “Rosmorport” is to expand the total number of dredgers and to reduce their average age. Thus, in 2017 the TSDH-2000 Yuri Maslyukov trailer dredger was laid at the Onezhsky Shipbuilding and Ship-Repairing Plant. Moreover, two self-propelled hoppers with the hold volume of 600 cubic meters are now being built for the needs of the enterprise.
