Information on icebreaker support in Russian seaports as of January 19

Since the 2017-2018 winter navigation has started icebreakers of FSUE “Rosmorport” have provided support for 269 vessels in the freezing seaports of Russia.

The Arctic Basin
The Moskva icebreaker provides icebreaker support in the water area of the seaport of Sabetta. The icebreaker has provided support for 46 vessels since the operation has started.

The White Sea
The icebreakers – the Dikson, the Kapitan Yevdokimov, the Kapitan Kosolapov and the Kapitan Chadayev have provided support for three vessels since the beginning of the winter navigation.

The Gulf of Finland
Since the beginning of the navigation icebreaker assistance has been provided for 24 vessels. The operation involves 14 icebreakers of the North-Western Basin Branch.

The Sea of Azov
Five icebreakers – the Kapitan Moshkin, the Kapitan Chudinov, the Kapitan Demidov, the Kapitan Zarubin and the Kapitan Krutov have escorted vessels to the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog and Yeisk. The icebreakers have provided support for 78 vessels since the beginning of the winter navigation.

The Caspian Sea
Icebreaking support for vessels in the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya is provided by the icebreakers – the Kapitan Chechkin, the Kapitan Metsayk and the Kapitan Bukayev. The icebreakers have escorted 70 vessels since the beginning of the winter navigation.

The Far Eastern Basin
The Kapitan Khlebnikov icebreaker provides support for vessels to the seaport of Vanino. The icebreaker has escorted 19 vessels since the winter navigation. The Magadan icebreaker has provided assistance to 29 vessels in the seaport of Magadan.

The world’s largest diesel icebreaker fleet, which includes 36 icebreakers of different capacity, ensures accessibility to the country’s seaports year round.
