Information on FSUE “Rosmorport” icebreaker support in Russian seaports as of January 26

Since the beginning of 2017-2018 winter navigation FSUE “Rosmorport” icebreakers have provided support for 667 vessels in the freezing seaports of Russia.

The Arctic Basin
The Moskva icebreaker is providing icebreaker support in the water area of the seaport of Sabetta. Since icebreaker period has started the icebreaker has escorted 49 vessels.

The White Sea
The icebreakers – the Dikson, the Kapitan Yevdokimov, the Kapitan Kosolapov and the Kapitan Chadaev – provide support for vessels in this area. Since the start of winter navigation the icebreakers have escorted 11 vessels.

The Gulf of Finland
Since the start of navigation icebreaker supports for 75 vessels have been provided. Fourteen icebreakers of the North-Western Basin Branch are involved.

The Sea of Azov
Five icebreakers – the Kapitan Moshkin, the Kapitan Chudinov, the Kapitan Demidov, the Kapitan Zarubin and the Kapitan Krutov are escorting vessels to the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog and Yeisk. The icebreakers have provided support for 340 vessels since the start of winter navigation.

The Caspian Sea
The icebreakers – the Kapitan Chechkin, the Kapitan Metsayk and the Kapitan Bukaev are escorting vessels to the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya. The icebreakers have provided support for 127 vessels since the start of winter navigation.

The Far Eastern Basin
The Kapitan Khlebnikov icebreaker is escorting vessels to the seaport of Vanino. Since the start of winter navigation the icebreaker has provided support for 30 vessels. The Magadan icebreaker has provided assistance for 35 vessels.

The world’s largest diesel icebreaker fleet, which includes 36 icebreakers of different capacity, ensures years round accessibility to the country’s seaports.
