FSUE “Rosmorport” works out plan to ensure transport security of international sea terminal under construction in Kaliningrad

For the first time FSUE “Rosmorport” has worked out a plan to ensure transport security of a transport infrastructure facility under construction, i.e. the international sea terminal to receive cruise and cargo passenger vessels in Pionersky, the Kaliningrad region. The document was coordinated by the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Transport on December 12, 2017.

The approved action plan will allow for reducing risks for acts of unlawful interference during the construction of the facility. The above-mentioned plan envisages equipping the facility with engineered technical transport security features, providing access control procedures and the access control regime inside the facility, taking examination measures, preventing explosives (explosive substances) from being deployed, preventing environmental pollutions with dangerous chemical, radioactive and biological agents, and other measures for ensuring transport security.

The international sea terminal in the Kaliningrad region is one of the major infrastructural projects of the North-Western Federal District. The project is realized by FSUE “Rosmorport” under the federal target program “The Development of Russia’s transport system (2010-2021)”. Under the project, it is planned to build berths to accept cruise vessels with the maximum passenger flow through the sea terminal of 250.000 people per year and the maximum cargo flow in the amount of up to 80.000 units of cargo transport per year that will facilitate the dynamical development of the Kaliningrad region in the sphere of ferry and cruise services.
