Information on the Accident in the Gulf of Finland

The Krutoyar mark boat being in operation of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch capsized near the entrance buoy of the seaport of Vysotsk as a result of an accident in the water area of the Gulf of Finland at 02:53 a.m. Moscow time on November 28, 2017.

When the accident occurred three crew members were aboard the boat. One injured person has been rescued and delivered to the shore. His condition is satisfactory. At present, a search and rescue operation is underway.

The rescue operation is organized by Rosmorrecflot’s Marine Rescue and Coordination Center.

Representatives of the central officer and the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch arrived to the site of the accident. The circumstances of the accident are to be clarified.

The Krutoyar mark boat is designed for transporting special personnel and carrying out operations on the approaches toward and in the water areas of the seaports of Vyborg and Vysotsk. The operations are related to maintenance of aids to navigation, which ensure navigation safety in the water areas of the seaports, and transportation and maintenance of medium sea buoys with mooring devices.
