FSUE “Rosmorport” takes part in conference “Infrastructure of the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Ports”

A conference “Infrastructure of the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Ports” was held in Novorossiysk on November 22-23, 2017. The conference involved employees of the central office and the FSUE “Rosmorport” Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch, as well as representatives of the Russian Transport Ministry, the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Transport and other representatives of the sectoral business community.

The conference focused on plans aimed at modernizing and developing the ports of the Southern Basin, matters of the legal and regulatory framework to use port hydraulic structures, carrying out dredging operations and building ports, as well as new innovations in the area of handling facilities in seaports.

During the event, FSUE “Rosmorport” representatives told its participants about the operations carried out to reconstruct Passenger Berth No 34 and Passenger Berth No 34A of the Coastal Breakwater of the seaport of Novorossiysk. The increase in frontage of the mentioned berths for mooring in the seaport of international cruise vessels of up to 205 meters in length became one of the priorities of the enterprise. The participants in the conference also paid attention to the need to organize events to fight the functional depreciation of hydraulic structures

The port activities are a strategic aspect in the economic development of the country and one of the key elements in functioning of the transport system in Russia. Over the past years more and more large-scale projects have been realized to create major logistics hubs. In order to correspond to trade and transport needs the seaports of the country should provide a world competitive port infrastructure and render qualitative services in the near-, mid- and long-term outlook.
