Labor safety system at Onego Shipyard receives high assessment

The Labor Safety Coordinating Council at the Government of the Republic of Karelia gathered for a session at LLC “Onego Shipyard” in Petrozavodsk on November 14, 2017.

The session involved representatives of the Ministry for Social Welfare, Labor and Employment of the Republic of Karelia, offices of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation (PFR) for the Republic of Karelia, the management of LLC “Onego Shipyard”, as well as labor safety specialists of major enterprises of the republic.

Karelia’s Acting Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Issues Dmitry Rodionov and LLC “Onego Shipyard” Director Vladimir Maizus addressed the participants of the session.

The session focused on issues to create healthy and safe labor conditions in construction and industrial enterprises of the city and the republic, electronic interaction between the PFR offices and providers of work in the sphere of pensions of insured persons. The participants of the session also heard a report on the efforts aimed at implementing the plan of action approved by the 2017 Labor Safety Coordinating Council. The 2018 plan of action was also approved.

The participants of the session attended the plant and studied the operating process, learned about manufacturing range and the existing labor safety system. Representatives of the plant told the guests about the history of the enterprise and prospects for its development.

Specialists highly assessed the level of organization of work for labor safety at the Onego Shipyard and advised the participants in the session to widely use the practices accumulated at the plant.

The plant’s director Vladimir Maizus has been awarded with the letter of commendation of the Karelian Ministry of Social Welfare, Labor and Employment for organizing the effective labor safety system at the enterprise.
