On November 13, 2017 FSUE “Rosmorport” obtained a permit to build the seaport’s infrastructure facilities of the international sea terminal to accommodate cruise and cargo passenger vessels in Pionersky, Kaliningrad Region.

Concurrently with this permit FSUE “Rosmorport” also obtained permits to carry out the works for creating two artificial land plots with total space of 5.16 hectares.

The sea terminal will include berth constructions, coastal protections, protecting structures, two artificial land plots, aids to navigation, crossing points objects, a passenger terminal building, onshore facilities and coastal sites. Moreover, dredging operations are also planned to be carried out under the project.

The international sea terminal in the Kaliningrad region is one of the major infrastructural projects of the North-Western Federal District. FSUE “Rosmorport” implements the project within the federal target program “Transport System Development in the Russian Federation (2010-2021)”. The project is aimed at building berths for accommodating cruise ships with maximum passenger flow through the sea terminal of 250.000 people every year and maximum cargo flow of up to 80.000 pieces of cargo transport every year. This will facilitate the dynamic development of the Kaliningrad region in the sphere of sea ferry and cruise transportation.

In December 2016 the State Expert Appraisal Board provided Positive Findings No 1482-16/GGE-10751/04 on this project. Under Rosmorrechflot Resolution No AP-14-r of February 02, 2017 design specifications and estimates have been approved.
