FSUE “Rosmorport” obtains permit to putartificially created plot of land in Sabetta Seaport into operation

On November 13, 2017 FSUE “Rosmorport” obtained a permit to put an artificially created plot of land in the seaport of Sabetta into operation.

The space of the new facility amounted to 14.75 hectares. The plot of land was being created within the implementation of the project, “Seaport Facilities Construction in Sabetta Settlement on Yamal Peninsula and Approach Canal Creation in the Gulf of Ob”.

The artificially created plot of land is designed for deploying a flaring facility and facilities for liquefied natural gas and gas condensate unloading system.

Sabetta is a seaport in the Arctic region in the watch-keeper settlement on the western shore of the gulf of Ob in the Kara Sea. The seaport is designed for servicing the South-Tambey gas condensate deposit, unloading and transportation of liquefied natural gas and gas condensate from Yamal Peninsula.

Facilities construction has been conducted within the implementation of the federal target program “Russian Transport System Development (2010-2021)”. This project will facilitate the social and economic development of northern territories and the strengthening of Russia’s role in the Arctic region. Its implementation will help to increase production of liquefied natural gas in the country by 2.5 times, from 10 million tons per year to 30 million tons per year.

FSUE “Rosmorport” acts as a developer of federal ownership facilities of the seaport of Sabetta – seaway and approach canals, the water area of the seaport, ice protection structures and coastal buildings, as well as facilities of the vessel tracking  management system and aids to navigation.
